WELCOME
The Carnegie Arts Center is a private 501c3 non-profit corporation that is located in the harbor area of East Chicago. Carnegie Arts Center in partnership with the East Chicago Redevelopment Department is renovating the historic Carnegie library into an arts center that will include over 13,000 SF on two levels - a theatre, a gallery, recital or lecture space, a tv studio, a Mac lab for film editing & animation classes etc, 4 classrooms, a rehearsal/dance space, a catering kitchen for events and space in any of these for your group, your production or your meeting!
The Carnegie Arts Center does not plan to produce but plans to collaborate, co-operate and to partner. We will schedule arts classes, outreach programs, exhibits, shows, multimedia events, community meetings, social gatherings, and more. This website will be growing and changing as we do, so check back often. Check us out on Facebook, and follow the progress of our building renovation or just look for information.
