The City of East Chicago is on the move! With a combination of new economic and social initiatives, a great energy radiates from our city on the lake. Rich in culture and tradition, East Chicago brings opportunities for all ages.

Incorporated in 1893 as a railroad and steel town, East Chicago was one of the Northwest Indiana Region's first industrial cities, which was created to meet the needs of its workers.

OUTREACH PARTNERS

fec_logo.gifOur Mission is to strengthen and improve the quality of life in East Chicago through strategic grant making, providing leadership, and serving as a community resource.

The Foundations of East Chicago are committed to improving the lives of every resident of our city.

St. Stanislaus Parish was established in 1886 by some of the first Polish immigrants who arrived in Lake County, Indiana. The East Chicago area, in particular, was their choice because of its proximity to Chicago. This location was a key for transformational access by rail or sail on Lake Michigan. It was a developing industrial center.

St. Stanislaus School opened in 1922, and has always put community first and welcome all who support East Chicago.

In the last five years, BP has invested over $30 billion in the US - from building existing energy sources to developing new low-carbon technologies; and in the next five years we expect to invest another $30 billion - in everything from the production of natural gas in the Rocky Mountains to the expansion of our operations on the North Slope of Alaska and the development of our deep water fields in the Gulf of Mexico.

BP believes in supporting the communities in which they operate. We are glad to be a part of the community.

Everyday, Safety-Kleen enables thousands of businesses to stay in balance with the environment.

We achieve a working harmony of two seemingly opposed missions: protecting the environment while protecting our clients' bottom line. In a thousand work sites, our crews and technicians perform hundreds of highly specialized environmental services that we pioneered and continue to refine.
